The X1-A (and it's pump partner, X1-P) were designed from the ground up to bring autocockers to the magfed community. Most magfed gun ergonomics are based around real-steel guns and ballistics and not the game of paintball, and the X1 series guns were designed to bring paintball to magfed.
The ADN X1 series guns all take the Tippmann tipx style magazines. This allows for multiple options:
Most of the X1 guns are sold as body kits so you can add on your own trigger frame, reg, internals, and front end pnuematics as there are multiple options and preferences. Everyone has their opinions so I tried to let as many of the options work as I could. It also made it easier for guys to do custom anno jobs.
One of the cool features of the X1A was the included lockbolt. This piece of specialty magnetic grade of stainless steel jammed the bolt and prevented it from closing when ammo was not fully loaded. Then when ammo was added in with a new mag, it would allow the bolt to pull close by the ram. So whena mag was put in it would self load. Pretty fun party trick.
Of course it is. What else could it have ever been?
Easier to mill as well as gives more valve volume for lower pressures.
Depending on the valve used you can go as low as 200 psi and as high as 850+psi depending on your power needs.
With the lockbolt installed the x1A will not fire without ammo in the breach all the way. Acting like a mechanical "eye" preventing chops.
Being as this design was a dedicated FSR marker, speed was not a critical factor in both timing and firing. In fact timing the gun to fire and then recock as far apart was recommended to keep the barrel wobble down to improve long range fsr shots. Due to this, I felt the standard wgp 3 ways worked best as well as most other parts. Old school and lower cost overall.
